Clinomic is proud to participate as a key beneficiary in a landmark European initiative: the EU-funded project SCAILED (Scale-up Biotech AI Innovation by Leveraging Responsible Data Use under the European Health Data Space). Clinomic brings deep technical, clinical, and regulatory expertise to the consortium.
Officially launched in October 2026, the 36-month SCAILED project aims to accelerate the development, deployment, and scaling of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital health solutions across Europe. The initiative harnesses high-quality health data within the secure and interoperable framework of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) under Regulation (EU) 2025/327.
With a total budget of €18 million, including €14.4 million (80%) in funding from the EU4Health programme, the SCAILED consortium brings together 50 partner organizations across 17 EU Member States. The consortium addresses critical technical, operational, and regulatory barriers to strengthen European competitiveness in digital health and biotech innovation.
Clinomic brings deep technical, clinical, and regulatory expertise to the consortium. Clinomic’s key contributions focus on three core pillars:
Clinomic is leading a use case focused on AI-driven prevention, diagnosis, and management of delirium in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients. Leveraging our expertise in critical care technology:
Developing and deploying clinical AI requires navigating a complex regulatory landscape, including the EU AI Act, Medical Device Regulation (MDR), GDPR, and the evolving EHDS framework. Clinomic contributes by:
Clinomic works alongside European AI Factories, Health Data Access Bodies (HDABs), and supercomputing centers to ensure that technical pipelines for federated learning, data anonymization, and secure data processing can be translated into scalable, production-level medical services beyond the pilot phase.
Coordinated by the Luxembourg National Data Service (LNDS), the SCAILED consortium unites 50 partners, including health data authorities, university hospitals, research infrastructures, supercomputing centers, biotech innovators, and patient advocacy groups.
By driving real-world ICU integration and shaping regulatory pathways, Clinomic reinforces its commitment to delivering trustworthy, life-saving AI technologies to acute and intensive care environments across Europe.
